Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Country Ribs



These Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Country Ribs are tender, flavorful, and incredibly easy to make. The combination of sweet and tangy flavors makes them a hit with everyone.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs country-style pork ribs
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and pineapple juice

Layer ribs, onion, garlic, and bell peppers in the slow cooker

Pour the sauce mixture over the ribs and vegetables

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until ribs are tender

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry

Stir the slurry into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking to thicken the sauce

Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving
